HAHA i did my 78 with Krylon DUAL satin black. Turned out ok. If you mask and prep, then you can make it look pretty good. If you have access to a spray gun then i would do it that way for sure. Better coverage and more control than a spray can.

Ya I get lots of compliments. Have to keep your hand moving pretty fast and keep going around. Give the truck a good tiger strip the night before, to help you with thickness applied. For under 100 bucks there is nothing to loose. My last 5 vehicles all got the treatment. Things never rust if you do a good job yourself, and you know what you have under the paint.

Re: Flat black, satin black paint ideas!

I painted my 78 with the Krylon satin black. Get the "DUAL" paint and primer in one because it goes on thick and covers well compared to anything else. Looks not bad. Truck was brown before. The roof is Tremclad flat white. I did all the door jams and dyed the door panels and dash black also. Turned out pretty good. I'll do the seat some day. Its just my beater dirt bike hauler so Im not to concerned about it.

Last pic is the truck the day I bought it two years ago. Cost about $100 in paint to do it all including the interior.

Re: Flat black, satin black paint ideas!

I have used Rustoleum satin black from Wal Mart at less than $5.00 a quart. Sprayed my car trailer and current project frame ('67 C10) w/gloss black. Cheap & looks good.

This is a rattle can job! Prepped it pretty good! That is what matters most, must have flat panels!

That is a 5/7 drop. I did ECE front drop spindles with 2" lowered springs up front. In the rear I used 4" drop monoleaf springs with 2" shackles. It still wasn't low enough so I raised the front spring hangers up 2" to gain another
1" of drop. Check my home page for the album with some pics.
