lolife-to make sure I m understanding you correctly... if I get a 1972 crossmember, I can roll it under my 1970 C10 Stepside with only brake line issues to be concerned with? All of the frame holes will align with the cross member bolts? Thanks!

Correct.
But I would never swap the crossmember itself.
No need.
I personally would use the 70 crossmember and associated brake lines.
Just swap all the steering and everything from the a-arms out,... after I rebuilt the front end.
