Trial and error...mostly error.

I couldn't get it round again after I cut it! I finally stuck that sucker into a 15" Rallye wheel, fit and welded (came out about 141/2" round). I then applied a two part epoxy for the big gaps and bondo for the rest... and then I sanded on that thing till I thought I'd go blind.

I keep reading in threads about guys doing this and how easy it was... I must have done it backwards or something because it was non fun!

Oh yeah! one more step closer. Remind me, are you painting this yourself or do you have a shop doing if for you? either way, it looks great. I'm leaning more and more toward solid red on mine. Same color as yours too. Keep the pics coming.

I am doing the body work and primer myself and a friend who owns a shop actually sprays the paint. I thought you were going two tone on yours? Either way your truck will look killer.

I got the emblems from Classic Truck Parts in KC. Good quality stuff and reasonably priced.

It's cool that you have the skills to do the body work. Everyone knows a good paint job is in the bodywork and prep. Spraying the paint is the reward for all the hard work getting there.

I was dead set on white and red, I still may paint it that way? I don't know if I will just do a white roof or solid red now? I'm just steering away from the 71-72 two tone now. It looks better IMHO, but I want to keep it in the 69-70 paint scheme now. Decisions, decisions. 69-70 69-70

My friend has taught me all the body work I know, he jokes with me that the reason he doesn't let me paint is because I worked to hard to screw it up at the end. lol

I still have some problems here and there but I have learned so much, it is kind of a blessing and a curse, before I knew any better I thought most all paint jobs were nice but now I can see and feel the dings and dents some don't fix.

I understand your point with the white roof, I went back and forth on that forever! Both ways will look great on your truck so don't worry about that, just try to decide what makes you the happiest. If it helps I agree with the 69-70 paint scheme.

Thanks for the comments guys, I have to give credit to Mrs. RocketKing for the color. I had a completely different stain in mind but she looked at me like I had lost my senses and suggested this color.

Thanks, I need to tweak the drivers door still but overall I am very happy with how it turned out.

BTW, I noticed I did not explain the reason I went with 17" TTII.

I spent many nights looking at billet 20's (not to mention bugging lolife99) and was about to make a buy until the A/C on my package unit at the house started acting up.

Well, to make a long story short the HVAC guy gave me the bad face and an estimate of $5600.00 to replace the old unit.

I may get it done cheaper than that but it flat changed the wheel buying decisions and besides, once I got them on I really like the look!

Sounds like a solid decision to me. The TT's look great and if in the future you decide to buy billets, you will have no problem getting a fair price out them.
