Turns out, the reason it was so hard to remove it was the rats nest. The picture doesn't show the sheer amount of crap that was in here. But I pulled 3 acorns out that were stuck between the flywheel and the block, and tried to spin it. A little stiff, but it works!!
I just took mine off and it looked exactly like that. Haha
