Re: Inflation fighter gets a makeover!

I prolly have close to 6k in all the swap parts. But alot of the factory parts i didnt have since mine was a 6 cylinder truck. Like fan shroud and what not. You could prolly budget one in for 3k if u buy a used motor and trans use the factory manifolds factory x member and what not. As far as being more cost wise as say a sbc or bbc it bout the same. To me its worth it. But ive grown up around ls engines compared to other gentleman on this forum who are accustomed to sbc or bbc. Just whatever works for you and your budget. Hope that helps.

A scrap yard around where i live bought out a dealership. So they had 92 5.3s brand new. They have like 30 left now.

Re: Inflation fighter gets a makeover!

All these LS builds get me thinging....and that's a scary thing! I'm running a 5.3 in my MCSS and LOVE IT! Working on more HP in that one now. My 72 has a 468 in it (and want more power in there too) but getting 4mpg is getting EXPENSIVE! Starting to think a modern engine might be a good alternative.

VERY nice job on the build!!!!!
