Behind the seat rear wall ideas?

In all my square bodies, I've had to re-do behind the rear seat because the cardboard tray was always tired looking or missing leaving an unfinished look. I still have the factory speaker mounts and grills, but need to buy new 4 X 10 speakers.
Do I carpet everything, build a durable tray, or just replace the cardboard tray?
Please provide some ideas and pictures on how to finish off that space behind the seats to give it a nice finished look.

Re: Behind the seat rear wall ideas?

I built speaker boxes out of MDF and painted them black - tucked into the cab corners. Then I built a custom plywood (with solid wood in some places) triangular shelf to fit my stuff. I wanted to be able to put a 4 foot level across the top and not have it get banged around. I finished it in a medium oak (I think) and then put strips of tool box rubber liner on the shelves. It holds a cheap set of emergency sockets (I actually used them out on the road once), a bottle jack, etc. I had the materials (mostly) so it was not very expensive to build.

Re: Behind the seat rear wall ideas?

Due to someone glueing shag carpet all over the inside of my 76 with construction adhesive I yanked it all out and put some light gray speaker box type carpet back up. I ended up just glueing it all to the steel with 3M 77, it stretched nicely and followed all the contours of the roof and back of the cab with no wrinkles. Also, If you're going to stick with the 4x10s and not use 6x9s I'd recomend the kenwoods.

Those are new procar seats from summit, they sell the brackets and everything for our trucks that use stock mtg holes just have to drill one hole for inside front mount
