Re: Out of hibernation

That would be awesome. I know you are about 3 hours from me. When I lived in Cali, I had no shortage of truck buddies. Seems like nearly every goshdarn weekend was spent with someone showing me something under that truck, I will ask my fix it guy about the carb, Im going to check on it today.

Thanks bunches!!

Re: Out of hibernation

Your Suburban is absolutely gorgeous! Hope the starting issues get fixed this time. Your truck is to nice not to be seen around town.

I can see it now. Your truck gets fixed and you take the family on vacation to Arches National Park.

Re: Out of hibernation

I do hope they get your truck fixed. The flywheel would be my guess to, after all the starters you went through.

Re: Out of hibernation

Hey yall!! Checked on my girl today. Flywheel is changed, teeth were worn and chipped. Tore up the teeth on the starter, but didnt break the nose, yay!!!. Waiting on a replacement part for the starter. I had a bad valve stem, thats fixed. Also had a bolt that was backing out of the alternator and rubbing my belt ragged, so I will replace the belt when I get it home. Looks like I have a leak in the tranny pan. Prolly a dry, rotted seal. I can change that too. He still has to address the "runnin rough" issue, and Im having him give her a complete check up to see if he can spot any other potential trouble. Im so excited!! Hoping to bring her home tomorrow, but theres always the possibility that I will have to wait til next week. Either way, I just want my girl running healthy and strong and worry free!!!

update tomorrow!!

Happy to see it alive again! You were so sad about the starter, I was about to jump on a plane and help you fix it! Didn't know if I could get a starter and flywheel through TSA though. LOL

Re: Out of hibernation

Thanks y'all. Yes, there have been times that I have been so disgusted with myself for not knowing how to fix stuff that I had thought about selling. I know I would regret it. And my son would be really disappointed too. Thanks to y'all for keeping me going.

xoxo

Re: Out of hibernation

Yaaaay!! Shes home. So far she starts like a champ. Of course I cringe for the all too familiar grinding sound every time I try to start it, lol. But so far so good!! My husband drove Thomas and I down to pick up the burb on Friday. When I pulled it around front, I told Thomas he could ride home with me in the FRONT seat of the truck, as I put him in through the drivers side, he said, "mama, cant I just drive?"... hes starting early, lol. Still gotta get the registration back on it, will be a couple weeks til I can take it over to Taylor county. One step closer......

Re: Out of hibernation

I love, LOVE building stuff, I've just never done it professionally. Either I learn (thru trial and error) as I go, or I have some one guide me, like now. My neighbor and adopted papa is a contractor, he has been the brain, and part of the brawn behind my endeavor. . I would love to make the meet, but my summer "vacation". Is quickly being filled up with stuff other than "vacationing" lol. I'll be happy with just getting her on the road.
