I tried to score the marine clean, of course this damn small town I live in does NOT have it.they had purple power .I went out there with a small wire brush and applied it to an area and scrubbed away with the brush.it actually worked surprisingly well , id scrub with the brush than spray down the area with my regular hose with an attachment.

I was going to suggest Oil Eater to scrub it exactly the way you did with the Purple Power.

I've had great luck scrubbing parts with it at home and some guys I know have replaced the caustic in their hot tanks with it as it is bio-degradable and they can dilute it with water for the hot tanks.

A lot of people buy it at Costco to clean the oil spots off their driveways. It does burn your face a bit if it is splattered on your face at the car wash though so a guy wants to take a bit of caution with it.

I have a gallon of Purple Power sitting in the utility room that I haven't tried yet that I bought on sale a few months ago. From your results I might use it on my GMC before putting the 500 Cad in it.

I used to use purple power but Castrol super clean works way way better.

I will order some marine clean online. I have some other areas I want to tackle.id like to do the undercarriage/frame etc before i paint it.

Making auto part store rounds. No POR-15 Marine Clean. AZ had 2 for $5 Power Purple "concentrated industrial strength cleaner/degreaser". The man said it works pretty good so I bought. I was surprised how grease globs seemed to disappear with minimal elbow grease. Pretty good stuff for cleaning gunked up greasy parts w/o much mess.
