Re: Lattimer's 1970 C-10 build

Z bar fits and works now. Got the alternator and Ac compressor mounted, carb i son, radiator in.

Made 3 trips to Auto Zone before I got a set of belts that actually fit. New pulleys caused me to have to get slightly shorter belts, and I guessed wrong twice.

Spent a bunch of time fixing and cleaning up wiring. Put a lot of the wiring into black wire loom and routed and taped it. Looks a lot better and hides the rainbow of wire going everywhere. I have too much extra electrical stuff to hide it all.

Also found my newest fuse holders for the electric fans melted just like the last ones. Fuses weren't blown, but the holders looked like they had been torched. Rewired that and installed a car audio style fuse block with the big glass fuses. If this melts I give up.

I still have to get clamps for the lower radiator hose (forgot them all 3 trips today), fill with coolant, install trans and driveshaft, and wire the starter.

Looking good. While you've got the hood off, it'd be a good time to paint your hinges, as well as your brake booster/MC/bracket with that Rustoleum hammered spray paint you turned me on to. I just installed a brand new booster and MC, and apparently they just primer them, and they're subject to rust

I have to see if I can clean the hinges up enough to paint them. They probably need to be blasted.

The booster I already painted with Eastwood Brake Parts paint, its supposed to be resistant to brake fluid. I have a new master going in soon when I do the rear brakes, and I already painted that as well.
