Re: Need some opinions, 72 as a daily driver.

With the small amount of mileage you drive, you'd probably do more damage letting the truck sit than by not commuting with it. Just be sure to wash it off really well if you drive on salted roads.

Financial sense...I don't think that term is valid on this forum.

I accidentally bought a 20' Wellcraft boat on ebay that way...boy was I surprised the next morning to see no one outbid me...almost as surprised as my wife was when I told her about it.

Yes this entire car disease doesnt make financial sense, lol. Funny that my wife was surprised as well, but that quickly gave way to being angry.

Finally, the real reason you need to get rid of one or the other!

I think the difference will be pretty minor though, for example right now I am paying something like $10 a month for the vette and $7 for the truck, that is full coverage.

that sounds like a good deal for full coverage....sounds like you should keep both of them...if ya have the room.

A '90 Corvette is still a pretty desirable car. That is the first year for the improved dash, has good brakes, the 700R4 was a good one then or the 6-speed was way better than the 4+3, the TPI engine had the roller cam and hypereutectic pistons. You have incredible rates on insurance. I have a good driving record for 20+ years and it costs way more than you are talking about for basic liability on my '83 K20. If you don't have to sell I would keep both.

Re: Need some opinions, 72 as a daily driver.

Well my decision has turned out to be an easy one to make. Went to get the car today and it turned out to be a complete POS, way beyond what I thought was even possible based on the description and the pictures. I will admit I am relieved to not have to deal with another vehicle but at the same time kind of pissed that the guy tried pull a shady deal.

In the end I walked out of the deal and will probably end up out a couple hundred dollars for the deposit. I would like to get that back but think it is probably a lost cause.

A few valuable lessons I have learned in this process is never buy anything used of good value with out looking at it up close, no mater how good it looks in the pictures and how good of a deal it is, I knew this but had a brain fart. Always have an escape plan on how to get out of the deal with most of your money, I knew this as well and it saved me a nice chunk of change sticking to it. And if buying something on eBay make sure what you are buying is covered under the right protection plan. Currently eBay's Vehicle Protection Plan doesn't cover much of anything on a 10 year old vehicle.

I guess in the end it was a gamble, 50/50 that it would have been decent and I could have made a couple grand, or that it would have been junk. I guess that's why I don't go to many casinos

My 70 is my DD "big block and all" while my denali dmax sets in the garage. Its sets low and rides like a lumber wagon but it has personality and I like the looks I get...

Glad it worked out for you man.

And show us your truck pics!

Once I get my truck running and on the road, I'm going to drive it a whole lot more than I used to.
