new leafs installed w/ pics

Truck is an 87 GMC V2500. Tires are 235/85/16's in both pics.

The front had 2 leaf and the rear had 8 leaf rated at 2450 lbs. I replaced the front with 3 leafs rated for 1400 lbs and rears with HD 8 leafs rated at 2600 lbs from General Spring.

I have never driven in an old truck with soft springs so I cannot compare the ride but I use it to tow and haul and don't care so much about the ride.

I don't know if it sits higher than stock since my stock springs were worn but I like how it sits now.

Stand by for pics.

Slick truck you have there. Very clean looking. Looks like you may have gained an inch in height. I wish General Spring made some lift spring packs because they have a nice HD 4 leaf thick front spring for my 1 ton. That should hold up to the 454. I just want a set of springs to bump me up about 2 1/2" and wont break down from the weight of the big block

Re: new leafs installed w/ pics

Thanks...I bought the truck in 97 and had it painted around 2001/2. At the time a buddy of mine worked at one of the GM factories and I scored a bunch of O&M parts. ( doors, front bumper, tailgate, grill, fender wells, trim, etc.) If I had known which parts would become scarce I would have picked up some other stuff.

Anyway my truck has the 350. Maybe you can go with the 4 leaf and a zero rate 1 inch block to hopefully Get 2-2.5 inches.
