My point in using a surge tank filled by the mechanical pump, was that you do not need to purchase a baffled tank, or two baffled tanks and two pumps if you have dual tanks (as I do). Simply purchase one external pump and buy/fabricate a surge tank and plumb it. Easy peasy.
Unless you are after an "OEM look...."
