PS adapter fitting
I need to find an adapter from a '92 metric O-ring PS pump to a '79 AN Flare PS gearbox, and am having a tough time. I am not at home to measure them right now so I don't know which end of the PS hoses are the large end, but the '92 hose end fittings are 16mm male and 18mm male, and the '79 hose end fittings are 3/8" male and 7/16" male. Can anyone help me out with this?
I only have the '92 PS pump and cannot change out the fittings on the back of the pump, so i need an adapter, and I really just don't feel like going to a junkyard. I'd love to order from Summit because I have some other stuff to order, but I am hoping for an assist from you guys, because I have looked and just can't seem to locate. HEEEEELP!! |

why can't you just change out the fitting in the back of the pump? This exact thing was covered in a different thread just last week. All you need is the fitting from a 79 and earlier pump, 5 minutes to switch it out and problem solved/
Just did this same switch in a '94 pump so should be the same. |

tincan, I addressed that in my post. I don't have the pump from the '79 and just don't have the time now to go find it at a junkyard, as I am not at home right now. Wanna get back home and have a fitting waiting for me to put in place and move on to the next thing. Maybe I should just see if I can find that fitting from the back of a pump to purchase instead of an adapter fitting. Less joints is better.

My point was if you changed that fitting then stock parts store hoses from a '79 would be a direct fit and not have to have custom hoses made. that's all. but to answer your question, try searching Aeroquip/Earl's for fittings. most likely tho, there's are going to be Female oring to the pump and a male AN for the hose- so you'd have to have a hose made with a female AN fitting on one end a male flare on the other. or more adapters, and possible leaks. |

Called both Purechoice Motorsports and CPP today, and left messages. Neither called me back. Frustrating. I thank you all again for your replies. I'll keep trying.
