Re: Can you tell if this is a L33??

I think I am going to try and re-use the rubber grommets on the bolts even though they are a lil messed up.. I think they just prevent from overtorqueing and cracking the plastic. If I have issues with them sealing I will get some new ones or something. Idk.

So far plan is to go check out the 5.3 i posted a pic of above.. It would be awesome if its aluminum but majority is saying that is isn't. Bummer but oh well.

I just got to get the 4.8 back together and new 3-2 shift solenoid in the 4l60e and take it for a spin to make sure no more codes or transmission issues.

Then I need to make a decision on what swap mounts to use.. looking at dirty dingos.

I think I may just jump on this 5.3 and let my bank account hurt for a month or so...

I do plan to delete egr.. I think I need a 1 3/8" freeze plug though. I want to get pcm done to eleminiate egr and cats..

You really think I could get that much $ from a 4.8?? I'd probably have to sit on it for a while to find the right buyer.. Makes it even more tempting!!!
Why are you swapping the 2005 intake out for the 2001 intake? they are pretty much the same with the exception of the fuel rails, also if i recall correctly the 2005 intakes were already blocked off for the egr. in that case you can just swap your throttle body and fuel rails over (for return system)

Yeah I was thinking about that but wasn't sure all it was, was swapping fuel rails and TB. But if you say so! I wan't to delete egr anyways!

Just have to muster up the courage to spend $500 when I already have my current setup.. Need the final push or justification.

Re: Can you tell if this is a L33??

Just an update guys. I talked him down to $400. I drove an hour to look at it. I get there and he said he just pressure washed it and purple powered it to clean it up a little.. I noticed the pcv hose was broke so water could get in and p.s. valve cover wasn't on all the way.. So I was worried there.

Then I noticed it had EGR, and a return fuel line and DBC throttle body. I asked why he thought it was out of a 05 b/c it didn't come with those things in 05. He tried to argue with me, and I realized he was an idiot.

I realize why now he didn't want to send me more detailed pictures. He had junk, and he swore it had only 100k miles b/c after all the other lies I couldn't trust him, so I walked away.

The search continues, but my 2001 donor is ready to be gutted so I can start the swap.

From reading your first post and looking at the pic, I thought something didn't seem right. Glad you walked and I'm sure you will find one more to your liking.
