When i was younger, i was quick to ditch the stock goodies and replace it with the coolest new thing. But if you think about all of these "fads" they really got out of style quick as opposed to the stock equipment.

Everyone remembers when pink stripes and graphics, two post tape deck radios, and fuzzy dice were the "in" thing, but by today's standards, they just look silly.

I have progressed to the point that i appreciate the stock nature of things, and think that if you must go custom, find somewhere to hide it so that your truck retains it's stock stature.

So the question is would i spend that kind of coin on this radio, Yes, if i had that kind of money to put into the rest of the truck, i think that it would be a good addition. I mean, where would you find another.

I wish I had a couple to sell. Best I ever did on ebay was I had bought a 1966 GM compass at a yardsale still inthe package. It was for the Chevelle or Corvette and such. I got it from an old woman who had bought it for her Corvette back in 66. I bought it from her for $2.00 it went to my supprise on ebay for $496.00 I had a reserve of $35.00 I thought that was a good price but man it went way past that. Some people will pay anything.

maybe the buyer was one sick individual that wanted to hear the first sound to ever emanate from that radio. or maybe they want that classic "Sound of the '70's" that you cannot hear at highway speeds in our trucks...and while $1,625 is a high figure, it sure beats developing a time machine and going back to '72 (or whenever) and test driving a Chevy with AM/FM off the showroom floor.

BTW, I also say no to Boz-All...I put my head unit in the glovebox, and while I did have to cut a hole for the wires in the cardboard, it was already torn up there. I have a radio delete over the hole.

you're the 2nd person to accuse me of buying a cd player at traM laW! I deeply resent this treatment! I got it at Circuit City!

This may be comparing apples to oranges,but,7yrs ago my brother-in-law bought a fully restored concours eligible 57 chevy convertible. He paid 45,000 for it.Lots of people said he was crazy! He has won his senior grand national title, and a concours. It is now worth more than 100 grand.Someday a concours 67-72 truck may be worth that!

Talking $1625 Radio

If I installed that radio the value of my truck would now be $1650.00

And to think I bought one locally at a wrecking yard for $8 bucks and installed it in my 69 SWB 396 truck. I guess I should have sold the truck for $1600 more.
