Re: Cowl gasket placement?

Litew8's got it right. I've heard this complaint from several, mainly that the seal is rock hard and will not allow the rear of the hood to close. I got lucky and found an NOS seal. I have seen the seal from Presision, seems to be much more pliable and should work fine.

Not sure how you could go "too wide across". Just lays in place. Goes underneath the cowl panel.

Not sure what brand mine is, but I purchased from Classic Parts of America 38-114 (1967-72) Hood to Cowl Seal 1 $7.95
