Re: Patina...

Interesting thread!

This is a very opinionated conversation. I won't give my preference, but even if I did who gives a damn?

This is as subjective as starting a thread bashing guys who put buckets in vs a bench seat, or who painted their trucks red instead of black. We all buy these with a vision and regardless of what the end result is, it is suppose to be a representation of your vision, creativity, knowledge...ect.

To be honest I am jealous of you southern guys, trying to find a solid patina truck in Canada after 50 years of salt is impossible, so here patina is so different from that average restoration it attracts a ton of attention, and is highly desirable. You see exactly what you are getting...an unmolested truck with no secrets from anyone else.

Re: Patina...

I love the look of our trucks both ways, mint and weathered.
I painted mine a few years ago, Nantucket Blue, no clear coat. I like the look of the metallic paint in a low luster finish. It slowly collected a light layer of patina/filth.
Gotta paint the new hood and do some touching up once the body work is done. Then let nature take over.

Well said... only thing I would add is... regardless of my vision, creativity and knowledge. The money and time seem to somewhat deter the outcome or lack there of.
