Re: Check out this frame swap

The scary thing is that there is more of this sort of work rolling down the road than most realize. I agree that every state should have yearly vehicle inspections, for a number of reasons, one of which is this sort of thing.

Agree on this.

Disagree with this. The sheriff's department or highway patrol (the ones that handle most road-worthiness signoffs for kit cars and specialty vehicles in most states) lack an understanding of what we do as enthusiasts and hot rods. While you may keep a few crapmobiles off the road, you'll do more damage to the hobby as a whole. Heck, DragWeek probably wouldn't exist if we start handing inspection rules out and make already overstretched law enforcement handle it.

I guess I could sign off on the idea if someone with a good reputation in the community (race officiator, existing tech specialist from a track etc) were handling these inspections...but the cost and backlog or resources for that would be extreme....let alone the political leanings of appointing such a job as a state employee. (But Hell, I'm qualified and would totally take it )

Re: Check out this frame swap

thats not an s10 or small blazer frame, s10/blazer frames are boxed. it actually looks like a 70s ford 4x4 frame to me.
