That just it. If someone take the time to put these parts up for 40 years ,and keeps them in pristine condition , then they should not be expected to sell the parts cheap. Its not a bad thing to sell a part for a high price. Look on ebay and see how many NOS pieces are for sale then compare it to how many restorations are going on and you will quickly see that there is a demand. If you sell a part cheap you haven't really capitalized on the cost of storing them for 40 years and taking the risk of them getting damaged and becoming worthless. I'm glad these parts still exist.

Its the same thing with your truck. You paid $1500 but turned down 10k. Are you trying to capitalize on your investment? I don't think so . it's just worth that or more.

I wish I hadn't seen that ad for the $800 NOS door handles. I sold an exact pair last year for $100!

I also should have held out to sell my 78 Big 10 short bed, 454, TH400, factory air, posi truck. I myself have gotten out of the old stuff and more into the newer rigs (99-06). I would love to find a 99-02 regular cab, short bed.

Thanks for the props. I generally post stuff on here first for members at a cheaper price before they go on eBay. I wish I could sell it all here as I HATE eBay. The problem is a lot of my stuff will sit here for sale for months. I can post it on eBay and many times it sells within a week. I really just have too large of inventory to hang onto it forever.
My thoughts on the NOS stuff is that most is priced to gauge the market. If the seller is willing to wait in most cases they can almost always get their price unless they are just out of your mind. I have seen stuff relisted and relisted time after time and a lot of times it finally sells. You can't figure the prices that the stuff is worth by what people are TRYING to get out of it. Look up items that have ACTUALLY sold. I would never pay the stupid prices most of it sells for. The way my luck goes, I would spend a lot of money on an item and then someone would door ding it or mess it up.
The SEMA build was really nice and I have seen it in person. A lot of local builders here in Phoenix put their heart and souls into making sure it turned out as nice as it did. I was able to provide the bucket seats and console for it although they didn't look anything like they do now. I just don't like that so many LMC parts were used when good quality OEM stuff was available. Maybe a lot of the stuff was donated for the build. I just prefer original GM stuff as I have had such bad luck with the quality of LMC parts. The truck is stunningly gorgeous. I just know some of the parts took more work than the should have to get looking like they do on the build. None of my builds will ever be anywhere near the level of this truck and it was done in 90 days!
I know a lot of members won't agree with my take on this stuff but that is what is great about this site, we all have different opinions and like different things.
