I could see it if you planned to use the engine and then had time to sell off the S-10 either as a unit or a piece at a time.
Right now for just the trans I think I would want to expand my search area by a hundred or two hundred miles. Or use a source like this to hunt one down http://www.usedpartscentral.com/search_new_mexico.htm
