Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

Well, two years has gone by, and these trucks have become much hotter in the collector market. Also, in that time, I think more guys have clued into why original paint is desirable. But, the latest seller is first of all, a dealer, so there's a profit margin to consider, and whoever did the drivetrain conversion seems to have spent quite a bit on the engine, as well as the chassis mods and the interior.

Patina looks more realistic and valuable with satin clear, just to shiny otherwise.

Wow. The trajectory that truck has taken since 2014 is pretty amazing.

I agree. I wonder how it would look if you rubbed it down with sand paper.

Indeed!!!

I think they went too far with this one. They oversanded and used a shiny clear, even though we know its "real", it now looks 'fake."

Overall, still pretty damn cool. Wouldn't refinance my house for it, but I'd drive it.

Just went through the same thing I am 35 and 10yrs ago I built a beautiful truck but sold it. Wanted another and now was the time. Looked at 10 trucks ranging from 5k-12k, spent a month and 30hrs of driving too. All of them in not great shape. Finally got a truck out of New Mexico by way of Orlando from a guy who just moved to Florida. Gave a little more then I wanted but still has the factory cab corners in it and only needs a drivers rocker. So I feel ya.
