Re: Project:Bookem
well I fixed the rear brakes, all I had to do was switch the calipers side for side and clock the mounting bracket to another hole. It all looks as it should now. Again, thanks Mike.

Re: Project:Bookem
I have great news, I was laid off my job after 29yrs of dedicated service. Man, the nerve of some people. Anyways, been working a little on the truck. I had purchased some porterbuilt hinges a while back and went ahead and installed them. Still have to attach the hood mount but I really recommend these, they will not only align the hood but then from there everything else can be lined up also. Plus it's so easy a caveman can do it. So I have a bit more to do, have to repair the top of the cab where it was banged, dad and I did it once but he's very old and impatient and when welding he warped the heck out of it. So I'm thinking of gluing the piece in, flange the edge and drill holes for 1/8 steel rivets. You guys think that would work? Oh yeah, I switched out the american racing rims for 20" coys in gun metal.

Nice looking truck. The wheels are one of my favorites. Also, does the massage therapist do outcalls and how long is the $40 massage? LOL.

Re: Project:Bookem
well, looking how badly warped the roof was I decided to just put a new roof skin on. By previous experience with aftermarket steel I know you can get 5 and each one will fit differently. Well I got one that didn't fit to well along the rear seam. I'm going to try to figure out how to close this gap and make it look good. I finally was able to order a new welder, went with the miller 140 and am very excited to try it out with the gas. Here's a pic, feel free to give your opinions on how you would fix this gap.

Re: Project:Bookem
Haven't worked on this in quite some time..going to change soon. Been repairing my little Honda civic that my dad wrecked. Have managed to get a good coat of epoxy on it.

Re: Project:Bookem
I had a momentary lapse in brain cells and was going to sell this truck..even had a body shop interested in trading work for the truck..a little time passed between discussions and I came to my senses. I'd hate to have sellers remorse.

Re: Project:Bookem
So, one thing I need to do is get a little clearance for the front tires. I have a big baer brake kit on the front using western dropped spindles. I spoke with Dutch over at baer and he can hook me up with the parts I need to adapt a CCP modular spindle which should help gain me some clearance. Then I'm going to finish this truck..or at least get it drivable.

Re: Project:Bookem
So I enlisted Chad ( Hellaflush3D ) to do a few renderings for me. He gave me some different color combinations and I love the end result. He's great to work with as well. I'd like opinions on your favorite paint job.
