Re: Photos of toolboxes?
Here is one of my old work truck. Sorry for the bad quality, it is a picture of a picture!

Re: Photos of toolboxes?
Probably wouldn't work for the 100% working truck. But one of these on each side of the bed, tucked up under the rail and put on with
misc. hardware for an easy "unlock and lift" works for me. These price-light boxes from Harbor Freight locked to the inside of the bed keep honest people honest when there's no bed cover on there. Someone who looked at 'em one day said, "That's a good place to keep your tools on the passenger side....and hand guns on the driver's side." That was a good idea. But I prefer to keep the revolvers a little closer. That's just me. And, doing so leaves more room for tools.

Re: Photos of toolboxes?
I have a tough box composite box in mine. I picked it up at a yard sale for $20, and it was barely used.
I keep all the parts for my "next projects" in it. |

Re: Photos of toolboxes?
That box looks right on there, Joey. I got away from using saddle boxes when I got into my siding business, needed more storage space and full bed length and height. That's when I went to side boxes.
I built my '84 to be more stylish and used low profile top loaders. Those went onto the '92 later I went all out for the service bodies eventually for a real work truck, not just a converted pickup truck I know these are not for the glamorous truck and aren't the saddle type, but I wanted to show these for anyone in the future search tool storage options. I went to look for a quality saddle box and discovered Reading and the other truck body companies no longer produce these. It seems the van outfitting companies, like Weatherguard, have taken up the slack. I never liked their piano hinges (that bleed rust) or the plastic buttons. They are also the ones who began plastering large brand emblems on the boxes, which I think is tacky. Everything I've shown is Reading I did a search just now, and although Reading doesn't show their Saddlemates on their website, there is a place that seems to be offering them. I didn't look any further. They may still be available, this place may just have old stock, or Google sent me back in time. Re: Photos of toolboxes?
Here's mine. Was already on the '68 C/10 Stepside when I bought it in 1973. PO had it painted body color [516 Orange]. No idea of manufacturer -- probably a dealership add-on.

Re: Photos of toolboxes?
I used to paint mine to match, too. That's a cool version. Nice and trim w/narrow lip around lid edges.
I hate to show everyone up, but here is a glamour shot of one of my past K/20s the next morning after doing a serious 4wd detail job (that resulted in an exploded axle U and both axle yokes mutilated)

Re: Photos of toolboxes?
Mine is a surplus military foot locker. It's aluminum and I paid about $100 for it.
