It's still worth the visit if you're in the area... even 36 years later there's a ton of devastation but lots of fresh growth up within it too.

I remember it well, Watched St Helens, blow from my roof top, Drove down the next year to check it out, what a sight!
Even after many years it is still a sight to see. The first three pictures were taken the spring of 1981 The rest were take in 2005 |

I woke up a few days later in the Texas Panhandle to find gritty volcanic ash all over my car which was sitting in the driveway. What a powerful event!
