Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Finally, some pics of the finished truck.
I had a local photographer take some pics before I sent it to it's new owner.

Smile Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Thanks Matt. I love the truck. I have re-positioned the compressor, added 8 inch wide rims in the rear and put the long Panhard bar on the rear. I am in the process of building a 700r trans for the truck and hope to have that in a few weeks for highway cruising!

Can you send a usb, jump drive or cd of the build pics? Thanks again for the great work you did.

Beautiful truck, beautiful pics. The new owner should be really happy with it! I like that under hood pic a lot.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

I just finished installing the 700r overdrive. It is now a great highway cruiser! The low 1st gear gives it great acceleration from a standing start and overdrive allows for great gas mileage and low rpms. I think the next step will be to drive the heck out of it. With that in mind, I drove it 250 fun filled miles on Saturday with the wife along. She drove it and I may not get her back!

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

We just finished the day participating in the Goodguys show in Dallas. The drive up in the truck was really fun and pleasant. We came back from looking at everyone's vehicles and we're surprised with an award sponsored by Speedway.

So now we are extending the hotel so we can drive her through the award ceremony tomorrow! If we get lucky maybe it will make the goodguys magazine.

The truck is always popular and draws a crowd. Many nice comments on the patina.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

WOW! I saw this truck at Goodguys last March and never would have guessed that it had that much work put into it. I thought it was just an old truck that was bagged. Quite a testament to your quality of work.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Wow what a build. Just read the entire thing. Great work. I have a question, outside of the c-notch what else was done to the suspension for the bags? Do you just use mounting plates front and bake for the bags? This is the exact look I am wanting for my truck. Wheels, and all.

Thanks and sorry for bumping an old thread. But it's such a great build maybe someone else can discover it with it back on top.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Sorry for the late response, I rarely check this anymore.

Pretty basic air ride install using Ride Tech brackets front and rear. Only things that differ from out of the box is that I built shock brackets for the front, rear uses a 2" block (CPP) on the trailing arm, and the bed floor has been raised 3/4" (bed wood is placed on top of factory flange and new perimeter trim was built to hide the ends of the bed wood. Let me know if you have any further questions and glad you liked the build!

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck
