Re: Online tire shopping?

Another thing to consider with online tire sales- if they have a warehouse nearby, you may be able to pick them up to save on shipping. I've done this with Tire Rack because one of their distribution centers is only 30 miles away. It only cost me an hour of my time.

Re: Online tire shopping?

That is a benefit if they charge shipping. But, when I was just checking, Tire Rack and DTD were both offering free shipping. I just have to drive 50 minutes to my friend's place to mount them. I have bought a lot in the past from 4WPW or National Tire because they have the right stuff for off road and I wished I was nearby for pickup. Shipping adds a good bit. Local shops offer free mounting and there is no shipping, but no discount shops closer than National in Wheeling, WVA...and I have driven there for tires before. I think it's about 4 hours away. But it's up and over the mountains, which is a wonderful drive!

This also means fast shipping...

Tire Rack:

I'm in the Dallas TX area. Recently an order made via my phone at around 2pm on a week day landed on my front porch the next afternoon around 3pm.
