Question about an RPO code

Hi everyone, recently purchased a 1977 GMC stepside. As I was looking through the RPO codes I noticed the code “9V1 - colour combination - BLA” Through my own research ive found that this was a COPO option that became available when you ordered the truck as a chevy sport. But obviously this is a GMC so im a little confused. I included a pic of the spid.

Thanks again for the help!!

Re: Question about an RPO code

An old rpo list I have shows 9V1 = black. Makes no distinction between GMC or Chev.

Re: Question about an RPO code

Paint codes do not make a distinction between nameplates (the code is the same regardless).

So - 9V1 is the "sport" paint scheme, whether it is a Chevy "Sport Truck" or a GMC "Street Coupe".

The engineering usage string would be C10703 & 9V1 & X88/Z88.

Thank you for the response! So does that make this truck a sport truck then? Or was it just ordered With sport paint?

It makes it a “Street Coupe” (the GMC equivalent of a sport truck).

Shouldn't Z77 be on the SPID if it's a Street Coupe? It's also a Sierra Classic, YE9, when I thought all Street Coupes were Sierra Grandes, Z62.
