Time to wait for the curing ... They are pouring the second section (under the carport overhang) this afternoon.
The sealer my flat work guy uses goes on when the concrete is still green.

Interesting, wouldn't have thought sealing it while green was a good idea. Slab is complete, cure time is done, hoping to get started on setting uprights later this week! Weather permitting, of course.

I wish I had input for you, but alas life keeps getting in the way! I have all my friends coming over on the 21st to get the frame set up, and as much else as we can get done. Be back with more after. 👍

Yes! I apologize for not getting over here to post some photos sooner. Life has been VERY busy!

We worked one day, about 15 hours (7 guys) and got about 80% of the framing up. Very happy with the building overall, everything went together easily and was logically packed on the pallets. Few washers were missing, but no big deal.

The only issue I have is that the end wall columns (which are non structural) were built about 6" longer than what shows on my blueprint - as a result, they don't fit. I've got a call in to the company on that one, hoping to have resolution soon. I will keep you posted.

Re: Building a new shop - pre-fab steel building

Just a quick update, the company did make me new columns (the president actually called me to discuss the problem). They just came in last weekend. I'm traveling over the next two weeks, but hopefully I'll squeeze in a day to work on the building again soon!

Re: Building a new shop - pre-fab steel building

Between work and the weather I haven't had a chance to work on it. Going to be organizing some friends to put in a work day next month, I'll shoot you a PM when I have a date for that.

I understand the work and weather stuff. Seemed like it rained every time I had a opportunity to do anything this year.

Re: Building a new shop - pre-fab steel building

I also know what your talking about!
I have a back yard shop without a driveway(yet!) since my area had almost 20” of rain in the last month...I can’t even back the truck out in fear of loosing it in the mud and standing water.

Re: Building a new shop - pre-fab steel building

Not much, but I finally found a day to get out and work on the shop building. The company sent me the correct end columns, and a friend helped get them stood up and start in on the end walls. We would have gotten further, but we had a good storm a few weeks back and there were a few downed trees we had to deal with.
