Are you going to do the Jeep job on the rag joint?

I had been planning to, which is why I've put it off for so long. But the correct parts haven't been found on the days i remember to look at the junkyard

Regarding Post #23....

Curious about what adhesives you used? I have to do this to my 99. The dash has succumbed to the TX heat & crumbled to pieces. I have never been a fan of 'dash-caps' but it appears there's really not much of an alternative for these later model trucks.

What brand dash-cap did you use? I see a couple of spots in the pics that could possibly be tweaked for a better appearance if desired but it looks decent enough for the daily grind.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I used an accuform cap. Reason being is it covers the whole cupholder area, and more of the dash. The other brand i can't remember, but it doesnt cover nearly as much. Ive used accuform cap on other applications and been pleased.

They supplied a tube of silicone adhesives, and i supplemented with rtv when the tube ran out. If i had more of a dash to start with, and more time/talent, the fit could have been better.

Re: project drivabeater: GMT400

You've brought this truck up a long way. And for very reasonable money. What McMaster Carr product do you use for the sound deadening, and how did you come about using that? I took a look at their website and there were a couple materials that I think would work well, but looked to be a little spendy. I imagine you used something that is pretty cost effective.
