Re: project drivabeater: GMT400
Regarding Post #23....
Curious about what adhesives you used? I have to do this to my 99. The dash has succumbed to the TX heat & crumbled to pieces. I have never been a fan of 'dash-caps' but it appears there's really not much of an alternative for these later model trucks. What brand dash-cap did you use? I see a couple of spots in the pics that could possibly be tweaked for a better appearance if desired but it looks decent enough for the daily grind.

They supplied a tube of silicone adhesives, and i supplemented with rtv when the tube ran out. If i had more of a dash to start with, and more time/talent, the fit could have been better. |

Re: project drivabeater: GMT400
You've brought this truck up a long way. And for very reasonable money. What McMaster Carr product do you use for the sound deadening, and how did you come about using that? I took a look at their website and there were a couple materials that I think would work well, but looked to be a little spendy. I imagine you used something that is pretty cost effective.
