Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck

Got some garage time on the old girl over the weekend and took advantage of every minute! Saturday night, I finished up the motor and Sunday my dad came by to help organize the garage a little bit, run to get parts I needed and work towards getting the motor and tranny in the frame. I cut the floor out for the SloshTubz high hump tunnel and then we attempted to get the transmission mated to the engine but soon realized that I have the wrong pilot bearing. I picked up the right one today so maybe I will have that together tonight and in the frame tomorrow night. We have had nice weather again so I'm itching to get the truck back on the road!

The best part of the weekend though was watching my fiance drive her Grand Wagoneer project off the trailer, check out that smile!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck

Got the right pilot bearing yesterday so I swapped that out last night and even got the tranny bolted up to the motor. Good progress last night! Tonight, I will be getting everything back in the frame so I can measure for the driveline and get that done. I have a tune appointment on the 30th so I gotta have it all back together for that.

I made this tool when I first built the truck, it just waits in the toolbox until it's time to come play

Tranny mounted up!

I also got my SloshTubz high hump tunnel yesterday, I was impressed with the fitment for being fiberglass, great product!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck

Just under 2 months and the engine and T56 are in the chassis! I'm hoping to have it running by the 22nd, we will see!

List of mods that have been done thus far:

Upper control arm bushings
Taller upper ball joints
Lower control arm bushings
Moved the lower control arms 5/8" forward
Larger lower control arm u bolts
Hotchkis sport springs, 5/8 of a coil cut off
High hump conversion
Tick Performance Street Heat Stage 1 LS1 cam
T56

Not too shabby for a couple months work!
