Mine also came off an 84, Chevy but same thing. Yea I do have to raise my foot a bit more but it was either cut the assembly and reweld at a different angle or raise my foot...

A guy on here somewhere did go the cut and reweld route. I think he cut a V out of the back section and when rewelded it rotated the assembly down while still mounting flush to the wall.
