There is no Neutral safety in the 1986 harness diagrams. The purple Circuit 6 wire goes directly from the CRANK terminal on the ignition switch, through the bulkhead plug, and on to the CRANK terminal on the starter.
The schematic is incorrect.

I just converted from auto to manual so I had all of that apart, and one of the plugs on that switch is the NSS even though it is not shown in the wiring diagram. This was on a 1987 R30.
