Just hotwire it. Run a jumper wire from the battery + to the B+ terminal on the distributor. (I have a 6' piece of wire with alligator clips on each end just for this purpose). If you are not getting fire after this then the problem is in the distributor.

PS> depending on how the truck is wired, you may have to disconnect it to get it to die.
