Your truck came from the factory with that chrome front bumper included in the Z62 package. The Z62 Custom/comfort pkg included the chrome upgrade "front only" bumper along with the stainless trim around windshield, back glass, and the chrome vent wings, and the "Deluxe" badge under Custom script. I don't have my Chevrolet sales ordering albums handy but I 100% know for a fact this information is correct for 1971 and 1972. If you can read the line build sheet I believe it will also indicate the frt bumper line build box as "ch" or something like that.

A 72 K20 I once owned had the Z62 pkg and a chrome front bumper, but the chrome front bumper was listed separately on the SPID. Joe's truck does not list the chrome bumper on the SPID.

Hey Mark, Custom Deluxe trucks in 71-72 didn’t not come with a chrome front bumper as standard. The code on my built sheet matched another built sheet on a truck I have with a white bumper. I have another one with a chrome bumper listed, but I can’t find where I put the build sheet. It’s here somewhere, I’ll find it and look at the code.

This truck had 58,000 original miles, and we bought it from the original owners estate. I did not have a chrome front bumper.

Mine was ordered with the the V46 chrome bumper
