Re: Headlight Upgrades
If price is an issue, just wait a year. The factory overseas making these will rip off Holley/Morimoto and sell them to someone in China without the Holley name on them. They will be all over eBay and Alibaba for less than $150 for a set of two.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
-
I used Jeep Wrangler headlights in my '67 Panel Truck. Jeep JK Wrangler headlights are a direct bolt in swap for the old sealed beam headlights in our trucks. They even have the 3 lugs on the back for alignment and use the stock '67-'72 trim rings. The headlights have more dome to the lense than the originals. I went ahead and bought the headlight conversion pigtails for the swap too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/13094045132..._redirect=true I bought both on e-Bay. Here are the actual pigtails I bought and the headlights I bought were from a private seller that changed his over to something different. They are in excellent condition. You have to be careful because there are a lot of look alikes. They do make exact replacements too but you have to watch, some of them come with bulbs and some don't. The easy way to tell the OEM's are by the back. I think the lights are the same from 2007-2015. LockDoc __________________

Re: Headlight Upgrades
I went with the Holley retrobights in my 68. Yeah not the cheapest thing, but man what a difference they made and the swap took like 10 mins to do and look great.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
I am using the Dapper V2 projectors. Not plug and play, took a bit to get them to fit as they are larger. A post in my build thread https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...&postcount=223 The classic version should go in without mods. A projector with an hid bulb is as good as it gets for headlights imo. Some led's are nearing the quality and brightness of hid's, but they are not cheap and you need to look for them.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
I had chosen form over function with the old headlights because I never really drove the truck at night. Recently I have started driving it more at night and it was pretty dangerous. The lights were little candles at best but my form over function frustrations were from liking the chrome half eyelid covers that the old lights had during the day time and the light that they restricted at night time.
I came across these LED projector lamps that have a great retro look but are modern LED projectors with crazy bright white light but the light comes out in a semicircle (flat on top, curved on the bottom) array so the super bright light does not blind oncoming traffic like a round wash array would. I am very happy with the look and the performance. I had to cut the back of the bucket they sit in and I also had to toss the three pin stock plug but it was not too much trouble to fit in. Re: Headlight Upgrades
I think Dapper Lighting is having a Labor Day sale on their LED headlights. Not sure where I heard that from though.

I've been looking at these for my TJ. What color did you go with? Happy with them?

Re: Headlight Upgrades
If you click my link above I have a thread showing the installation and the light output of the Holley retrobrites. I went with the 5700k.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
So far for what I've seen available I think they are worth it. I actually bought two sets one for each blazer. One Blazer won't be ready for lights for 6 months.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
I ended up buying a set of used Wrangler Rubicon 2015 headlamps - these are a direct fit.
H4-H13 conversion pigtails AUXBEAMS LEDS 9008 for the headlights and 1157's Parking lights. I will see how this goes.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
What is the cost for a set of those used including pigtails? Let us know how you like them after you install them. Being able to see at night makes these trucks much more enjoyable. Well lit gauges are second on that list.

4 LEDS = $70 I’m sure you can find the headlamps cheaper and same goes for LEDS but the LEDS had good reviews … Hope to install with a couple weeks
