SB A/C Bracket Bolts
For my SB 350 V8 A/C compressor install,
I’m starting to organize and clean my A/C bracket bolts for mounting to the passenger side Rams Horn Exhaust Manifold. To verify that I have the correct hardware, can someone tell me the correct lengths of these two manifold mount bolts circled? Stock photos for reference used. Thanks

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
I have this stud. GM part 3937247.
I bought it at the dealer in the late 90's. I think it's correct for the stud by #19 Overall length 3 7/8 Long end is 2 5/8 Short fully threaded is 7/8 |

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
OK, thanks again to Jason for the exact bolt specs.
Now for bolt #20, is it longer because of the width of the rams horn center mounting holes. Can someone verify the length of bolt #20? The A/C components/hardware were mixed up in boxes from when I first purchased the truck years ago. Going through and verifying the seven mounting brackets and mounting hardware is a bit challenging to see if I have everything needed. Thanks again everyone.

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
3937247 is the special exhaust manifold bolt/stud on the drivers side on a 350 that the manifold tin heat stove bolts to. In addition to 1969-72 trucks, it's correct for 1976-79 Corvette.

When I searched the web with this part number, several links described the Corvette application you mention. So this special headless stud bolt is wrong for the passenger side lower A/C bracket to the Rams Horn exhaust manifold or it’s dual purpose? The almost 4” inch length seems correct? After cleaning my bolts, nuts and washers, I am certainly missing this part and some mounting hardware. I called LMC to reference their diagram and they couldn’t offer any length specifications to any bolts. They also don’t offer this specific headless style stud. I am going to take some depth measurements with the brackets and the exhaust manifold to determine what length hardware is needed. I found an old forum post that said to measure and deduct 1/4 “ inch for proper fitment to the engine head. Hopefully a WTB post will help locate some hardware. Thanks for your reply 1970cstblazer

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
Sam did you decipher that list and figure out what the stud part number was?
PM me your address and I'll send you the stud I have. I'll probably never use it. |

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
I have to admit Jason I’m a little lost referencing this stud bolt.
My factory assembly manual doesn’t show a specific 350 V8 diagram/picture of the lower A/C bracket to the exhaust manifold. The LMC diagram is what I have been utilizing for reference, What is confusing is that Part# 3937247 is for a Left Hand application. The bracket stud bolt is for the Right hand exhaust manifold. Not sure what I am missing but I will figure it out. I do have all 7 A/C brackets and I believe the rest of the bolt on hardware. It is just this one stud bolt that I am missing. I will PM you. Thanks a ton!

Re: SB A/C Bracket Bolts
Hey guys, I stumbled across this thread because I was looking for that bolt/stud as well. The bolt you listed isn't quite correct. It is 3/8 going into the head and 5/16 for the bracket. I found that classic industries sells the correct bolts as part of a set. The two pictured on the left are the ones for that compressor bracket.
