Easy enough to make a new cable yourself.
Can get new cable anywhere, Ace hardware?
Find a 3/8" bolt that has an unthreaded portion and cut two 3/8" long pieces out of it.
Drill a hole thru that fits tight to the cable you are using.
And most important, use silver solder with the proper flux to secure the nubs onto the cable. Then dip the cable ends in boiling water to remove any remaining flux.
Been doing this for years with 100 percent success.
