That is really cool. That last knife picture...is the sheath made out of the same material that you made the handle with?

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
That's nice workmanship.
Nowhere as nice but, they made the wife happy. A mix of custom black walnut kitchen spoons. The top one isn't symmetrical on purpose. The different radius on the bottom match the corner radius of her favorite sauce pans. The bottom one is several years older and accidentally made a trip through the dishwasher once.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
For today's post it's not so much a craft as the repair of one of my mother's chairs. The apartment she lived in had a water leak in the ceiling and in fell in and broke the arm. In addition I discovered the broken parts in the seat base.
I don't think the falling sheet rock did that damage rather just being 70 plus years old was the issue. No matter how it was broken I need to make a replacement piece and get some1/8" plywood to make it right again.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
I finally finished repairing the chair. Unfortunately I missed getting it ready for mother's day due breaking a bone in my foot.
I didn't get a good photo of the piece I made to replace the broke one in seat. Mostly operator error in taking the pictures. And ready to load up and deliver to mom.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
Started with a blank 23' cargo trailer, insulated everything and installed windows. The bed is raised to make room for the utilities: solar charger, inverter, water tanks, batteries ect. The bed hinges to make room for toys. Then we have a bathroom and cupboards in the V. We have a mini fridge, air conditioner, generator. Everything is set up to be self sufficient when we do our long road trips with my diesel '52 GMC doing the pulling. Trailer weighs 5000lb loaded for camping.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
Bumping this back to the top. Back on post 172 I showed some photos of the banister project I did. I failed at follow up then so here's the rest of the story.
The second photo is of the mockup of the ballastors and the spacers I used.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
HO, very nice, clean, fit and finish! The image with the clamps reminded me of the old saw - " If you didn't use all of your clamps, you didn't use enough. If you did use them all you don't have enough."
Ken O, nice looking boats! We don't have many ponds or lakes in this area where we can use IC engines, so most of our builds are electric. There are a couple of brushless screamers though. I live at the other end of the spectrum with a few slow boats that don't move faster than I can think.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!
Again, totally impressed by the creative ability of folks here. Built this cradle for our youngest son born in '86. Used by him, his two cousins and our two older grand daughters. Now being used by our son who was the First user for his First born, our youngest grand daughter. Made wooden name plaques for each little one to pass thru it and fastened each to the end of the cradle. Took it to Alabama to he and his wife this past July. Pretty sure myself and Mrs. Ironhorse are no longer going to use it, LOL.
