ID the block
these are the numbers stamped on the pad on the front of the block I can't get a camera in to see casting numbers Power Glide kick down bracket is in my way ...im searching .....this is a 69 c-10 half ton and the glide is original and on the SPID I didn't and can't get any info from the PO or the PO before him someone did a recent resto that's just OK .... the heads are interesting and what's got me wondering 327 ....69s came with IL6 307 350s not sure or is this a early 69 with a leftover 327 ??? or a 350 that's been upgraded some what ?
PS in my younger days if you had the number stamps you could put any Id# you wanted on that pad

Re: ID the block
Can't tell you about the block, but those are Fuel Injection/high performance heads.

Re: ID the block
Those will have 2.02/1.60 or 1.95/1.60 diameter intake/exhaust valves. Not sure there is any way to tell by looking at the casting numbers, but it's been a dog's age since I worked with anything like that...like 30-40 years. There isn't much room inside the head for the 2.02/1.60 valves. They are really close to each other and the thin area was prone to cracking.

Re: ID the block
Using the last 3 digits (letters) of the stamping, search here for the original configuration, year of the engine, and what vehicles it was installed.

Re: ID the block
What I could find is the HC suffix code was for a 65-66 250hp 327 with 4 barrel carb and power glide transmission. This would most likely have been in a Chevelle. This was in the era of 2 digit suffix codes, but for some they had 3. HCH was the same engine with a Holley 4 barrel and HCR was the motor with a Rochester.
This was an interesting find as I had not seen that before. You learn something new all the time.

Re: ID the block
Intake is '68 and back with a plug in the filler hole. Can you see a date on the intake?
