2000 S10 Blazer RPO code decipher

Have a '00 2wd/2dr Blazer
4.3 with 5 speed manual.
Im trying to decipher which code in the glovebox designates rear end size and gear ratio.
Need to replace axle bearings.

Re: 2000 S10 Blazer RPO code decipher

Rear end size is not dictated by an RPO code, but by the model.

So an S10 back then would be either a 7.625 or 8.5/8.6" ring gear 10 bolt (page 45 of the pickup document).

Pickup info packet: https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...rolet-S-10.pdf

I think you'll have to post up a photo of the cover so we can tell.

Ratio will be a "G" code, where

GQ1 = base ratio (the ratio itself will not specified on the SPID)

If an optional ratio was chosen it will appear on the SPID:
GU4 = 3.08
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
G80 = Locking/Limited Slip (non-open diff)

for example.

Blazer info packet: https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...let-Blazer.pdf

You might also post a pic of the SPID, for reference.

Great and helpful info you have provided. Appreciate it.
Has code of GU6-3.73 and G80- Limited slip.
Will have to crawl under it and do some measuring

Grabbed these off the S10 LS Swap site. Easy way to tell the 7.5 vs the 8.5/8.6 rear in an S10 platform
