dumb auto hub question alert
Hello all,
Does anyone know the ins and outs of possible swapping the automatic hubs from an 8 lug chevy 10 bolt into a 8 lug Dana 44 (ford)? I have a 78 f250, it is not a big wheeling truck but i use 4wd in the winter,, Once out on the highway,,, the driveshaft does not enjoy spinning at 60 mph. I am doing the brakes/bearing now and that made me think of it.. I use the auto hubs in my v2500 burb and never had one complaint.. Any advice is greatly appreciated. My guess is i need the GM hubs as the clips are different? Chris |

wont work, 10 bolt chevy is going to have 'spline drive' hub whereas the 78 ford will have bolt ons

Re: dumb auto hub question alert
All my trucks are full time four wheel drive and the front driveshafts have no problems spinning 70-75 mph down the highway. I think some driveshaft maintenance would be helpful. A couple years ago I had a terrible vibration and thought it was my front driveshaft but it turned out to be the rear one. The splined yoke wore out.
