That's no laughing matter for sure! What have they done to us?
I don't know how legit it was, but I saw someone selling a gallon of DP50 epoxy primer w/activator for a mere $800 ......
I see this stuff listed for around $500 pretty regularly now. I remember when it sold for $50 a gallon and we all thought that was high.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Today I finished bolting in my rebuilt disk axle. New brake lines are in place and all I need to do is sort out installing the booster...with brackets I don't have yet but it looks like I can get from the parts board.

Paid $200 for a 60Gal 5HP compressor...
so if I tell the wife that I saved 1300 that way...
then I might just be able buy 2 gallons of primer and a gallon of base for that ;-)

It’s out . I made the mistake of trying to remove the engine with the front clip on . What a pain in the butt . I’ll most likely pull before putting the new motor in .

Changed the lower trim from black to the exact same wood grain as my bed floor.
Also grew a pair and drilled a couple holes to finally mount the engine badges.

NOS (new old stock) grill in original boxing - dated 1986 and 1987. Found locally in the Seattle area!

*** I spell out the definition of NOS as it really seems many lost the definition...for some reason

NOS is - Original items never used and sitting in storage

One nice thing about an engine that leaks oil . Little scraping and some dawn power wash with a scotch brite pad

I once had an old farmer tell me he liked Cummins diesels in his trucks and equipment because they leaked oil out of every pore they have and he never had to worry about rust!

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well maybe not so much what I did to my truck today but what I plan on doing again soon.
Long ago I installed a Quadrajet tin heat shield underneath an Edelbrock Performer intake on my 350 small block Chevy and unfortunately I sold that engine with that intake in another car and I missed the notable smoothness of the mid-range engine rpm just cruising around town.
Trying to locate a tin heat shield without having to purchase the entire Quadrajet intake was difficult but eventually I found one on ebay.
Going to wait until fire season around here is greatly minimized because I don't want to be in the middle of a truck project in case a forest fire comes raging through.
Anyway that's my plan and I couldn't wait to tell you!

Yea I plan on it but already bought the Fel-Pro gasket set with the tin plates that have the holes in them before I searched further.

The old gasket set might already have the desired complete block-off tin plates in them in which case I'll simply transfer those to the new gasket set.
Or just shell out more $$$ for the set I should have got in the first place.
