The lip on the front panel is the thickness of the wood below the angle side rails on the bedsides. That should end up being 5/8 of an inch from the bottom of the angle to the lip.
You probably want to measure from the center of matching bolt holes on the bedside and the panel to figure out where that lip goes. Then it will take having a 50 inch strip of correct thickness sheet metal bent in a brake and fit the two These are the bed wood dimensions from GMC pauls site. tog ether and weld up.![]()
