Saw this post and it reminded me of my book I've had forever so I had to check, yup same author and I got my pages plenty greasy over the years.
Still grab it as a quick reference for the head and intake bolt torque sequence.

Cool! I have the "Fix your Ford" sister to yours. Most of the greasy fingerprints are in the rebuild section.

Came home from a three day excursion . We road the Cumbres and Toltec Railway from Chama NM. to Antonito CO. on Wednesday and caught some of the best fall colors I've seen in a long time. This picture is only a sample. And I can't tell you if this was Colorado or New Mexico 'cause the train crosses state lines about 11 times in the 8 hour trip.

What a beautiful photo. My girlfriend and I stoped and stayed in Canon City, Colorado this year in June I believe. We did the Royal Gorge Route the next day and it was awesome. One of my favorite parts was seeing the "Guardian of the Gorge" rock formation while one the return trip. I was a little nervous staying in the town over night passing by the prison in town. LOL

Had lunch at a local eat place with my some of my retired co-workers. About a dozen typically show up. We do it every second Friday of the month.
Kind of fun to sit around and talk smart.

New rotors, calipers and pads on my Dodge . Calipers were starting to weep around the pistons I put them on about 6 years ago . Took them to Autozone they replaced them without a word . Rotors and pads I bought from Rock Auto Raybestos brand element 3 coated . Cleaned the anti seize off the studs before I put them on about tire back on

Looks pretty good to me. Second layer repair paste goes on tomorrow.
Does that mean I get to spend $1500 on hot rod parts? LOL.
Around here, the response would be "you already have"...

I removed and sold the rusty cab off the '69 parts truck yesterday. Box is on the '70 and front clip is disassembled and stored in the car barn. All that's left outside is the rolling chassis now. Parked that behind the car barn for the winter and will get started on the restoration of that next summer.

Just got home from a 2 week trip to Italy. Had a great time but it sure is great to be home.
Can't believe how many of the leaves are now on the ground. Came home to a broken thermostat. No heat downstairs 54*

Fixed my wifes favorite garden tool yesterday. The plastic handle broke off. Searched the shop for a sturdy replacement. Railroad spike, tap and die set, JB Weld as thread locker, happy wife!

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

i haven't done much with my truck for a couple of years now, since it's been done other than drive it and some car shows.i thought about doing another truck and would if the right one turned up but not so far.i was never one to do nothing,i started on a 1939 Chrysler Royal 4 door sedan project and had alot of progress made but then a couple guys turned up wanting my 67 Impala wagon(that wasn't for sale) started working on me to sell it.i angonized long and hard about it.i did want to build another 32 Ford like i had years and years ago,so when the money got into a big enough pile,i sold it and went hunting a 32 Ford, put the Chrysler up for sale.i'm not happy that my wagon is gone,i had it since 1999,bought it in Blueridge,Georgia from the man who bought it new but i'm building the car i really wanted and i can't have them all i guess?i found a new 32 Ford 5 window coupe steel repro body a few hours from home and a badly cut up 2 door sedan 32 body a couple hours away in the other direction.something else to agonize over?the new coupe body was very, very nice but an awful lot of money and just a body, the sedan was more affordable but cut to pieces, did come with a few parts that turned out to be a little help but most of the parts,i'm replacing with new.i discovered that there were very few replacement panels available for a 2 door sedan, unlike a coupe or roadster and of course, even if there were parts, they wouldn't be good quality,so i looked at the sedan, said it was too far gone for me to fix and came home.my wife said if you want to new body,go get it but i just couldn't spend all my wagon money, and then some for a body to still be so far from a car so i called the man with the 2 door back and asked if i could come look again,he said sure, anyway long story short,i decided i could fix it so i bought it,hauled it home and had money left over to start buying parts, new steel fenders, new rad core so i can build another rad,new steel hood, new bumpers, new 9 inch moser rear end,new gas tank, new headlight bar and headlights, new windshield frame, all the front suspension, new running boards, had all the machine work done on my engine and a new transmission built and on and on.it's been here a year now so it's more than what i did not on my truck today but we're building a car out this old girl.there'll be lots more days of not working on my truck today but it's all good.

Yesterday finished detailing the Mustang and put it away for the winter.
Today I cleaned our small storage getting it ready to put the snow plow on the Wrangler.

Borrowed a run stand from a friend and got my 292 set up and running. I have it on FB, but not much interest in a 6 cylinder engine out there.

Great setup.

I like it.

The FB crowd is tied up in the algorithms.

You are right though

Probably a limited few that even know what a I-line 6 or 3 on the tree is

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I have a 10 second vid of it running on FB, but the file is too big to post on here, so I haven't listed it in the for sale forum.
I guess I could just post a link to FB...duh...being old isn't always compatible with all the electronic gadgetry and acronyms of the modern world.
Yeah, I6's and 3 speed manual transmissions went away a long time ago. I was lucky, I got to take my driver test in a '66 Malibu with a 283, but it did have the 3 on the tree...

I cleaned up my 69 mach1 to take to lunch yesterday. Woke up to blue skies, exercised and the clouds moved in. No problem till I pulled it out of the garage and the skies opened up. So back to sleep once again, rats!!
