It's worth noting that the 70 codes, like 529, are poly/metallics and are a noticeably different shade from the other sea of non-metallic greens as they also have blue added in.
Here's my "understanding" (I use the term loosely) of the greens across the 67-72 era (olives are another story.. not included here)

1967-69: 503 (Light Green) and 505 (Dark Green)
1970: 512 (Dark Green-poly, aka Dark Blue-Green) and 529 (Medium Green-poly, aka Medium Blue Green)
1971-72: 518 (Medium Green, aka Meadow Green) and 505 (Dark Green, aka Glenwood Green)

I own both codes now and have painted both colors, what I see is the 503 is way lighter than the 518. The 518 when it fades gets really close to 503. I also have a 72 that should say 504 Willow Green (Met), but being its from Fremont, it says 504 Med Olive. Love Fremont.. I am a fan of the Greens...

I sent a message asking about the VIN, we will see if they answer me or not.

Good points, I agree. It appears somebody got away with a switcharoo in 1983 at time of transfer. Who knows what could have happen back then, purely speculation, somebody sold someone a stolen pickup camper and used the pink slip and vin plate from a wrecked truck? Not many people knew about vin decoding and subtle differences between a '70 and '72 Chevy's back then. How many people are going to check vin location on frame or even know where it is? Old saying, buyer beware always holds true. Here is another 70 vin in '71 clothing? No photo of SPID agian, but I spy the blue door jam decal. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...ale-fl-2929397
