Couple videos from the autocross a few weeks back. First one had my cousin riding with me so I had a little fun, the 2nd one was my last run and I think my quickest run. Good times!

LS Fest prep is in full swing in my garage right now, I am leaving a week from Wednesday so the pressure is on! Over the weekend I got my bucket seats mounted, LS6 valley pan installed and also repainted my valve covers to match the truck. Good weekend in the garage for sure!

I used a similar idea to another member for my seat mounts and made a frame that bolts to the factory holes and holds both seats.






Tearing into the motor to swap the valley pan, I sure like how easy these engines are to work on. Took all of about 30 minutes start to finish.




All back together with the new color on the valve covers. I think that it really showcases the whole swap now as the motor is the main focal point and not the valve covers.


That's all for now! I have a 3 day weekend this weekend so I'll be buttoning a couple other things up and get it ready to go on the trailer!

Had a very productive weekend working on the old girl. Dad came over on Saturday to help me knock out the remaining mechanical items before LS Fest, we killed it in the garage and got every item taken care of minus some cleaning!

I also did some research and found that my PCV system was hooked up improperly so I got that taken care of. Oil smoke out the tailpipe does seem less than it did before


I also got the rear sway bar on and wired in my Dakota Digital speedometer signal converter, so nice to have a working speedometer in it!


List is all checked off, minus cleaning it up!


Now for the unpleasant news. I was driving home last night and decided to blow 3rd gear out of the transmission. Just what I needed right before I left for LS Fest! Sourced a remanufactured unit this morning, dad will pick it up on his lunch hour, and I'm taking off early to start pulling the broken tranny. I WILL make LS Fest, down but far from out!

Thanks everyone! I don't do much drinking anymore so no need to bring any beer with us

I have an awesome support group and they came through in full force last night! I located a remanufactured transmission, dad picked it up and delivered it while I was tearing it all apart. Had the old tranny out in about 30 minutes and after swapping some parts over, drooling over the new hotness and general shop talk, we had the new tranny in place and on the crossmember an hour later. We killed it last night and I'm a super happy Scoot today

Hey guys, sorry for not getting an update on LS Fest up sooner, been pretty crazy lately. LS Fest was an absolute blast, I met quite a few people I've been talking with online and learned so much about the old truck. The trip down was uneventful, had the truck on a trailer, and when we went to leave on a cruise with some magazine guys I realized my clutch was slipping. We turned around and got that taken care of, didn't quite have my slave cylinder adjusted right but an easy fix. I hit a rut with the autocross portion and not matter how I drove the truck, I could not go any faster and that really got to me, oh how easy it is to get caught up in stuff like that and feel like you're not having any fun. Talked with a guy from PCH Rods the next morning and concluded that the anti-squat correction I did was causing too much lean on the front end so dad and I flipped em around and finished up right in time for my first run. Made a huge difference! It was a pretty tough course and the truck wasn't handling all of the transitions as well as I had hoped but man was it fun! The 3S challenge the next day was an absolute blast as well, there were mirrored courses that consisted of a drag race into a u-turn, quick chicane and then stop in the box without hitting cones. By far the most fun I've had in competition driving.

With the help from Rob at No Limit and guys at work, I have concluded that I have found the limit of the factory suspension setup. I was hoping to get more time under my belt before that point but oh well. I'll be getting some more seat time with my current setup while saving for a new front clip and coilovers. I'll try to keep the build updated along the way

Been out enjoying the truck with my girlfriend for the most part! I ended up breaking something on the T5 over Labor Day weekend so the truck has been sitting since then. I have solved the issue with a T56 that I will be picking up in a couple weeks and then I'm in mod mode again. Going to be a great winter!

your talking about winter mods already and it hit nearly 100 degrees here today. Winter is still 4-5 months away (here at least..lol..)

That's the bummer about the Pacific NW, we are a few weeks away from the rainy season. Can't drive it so may as well work on it

Back at it again! A couple weeks ago, I had a couple friends over and we pulled the front clip off the truck and pulled the motor and tranny. I blew up another T5 on Labor Day Weekend so I picked up a T56 that my buddy pulled out of his S10. I have that going in as well as doing a cam in the 5.3, I went with a Street Heat Stage 1 from Tick Performance awesome customer service! Amongst that, I am also playing with the front suspension a bit with upgrading the lower control arm u bolts, moving the lower control arm forward 5/8", all new bushings, Hotchkis front springs and finally QA1 taller upper ball joints. The truck has been suffering from the lack of camber and caster so it's time to play with things a bit!











I also signed up for LS Fest West again this year! Decided that it was more than worth going for the Truck Grand Champion, I'm super excited and can't wait for May!

Making some more progress, it's not near what I have done in the past but progress is progress! LS Fest is in like 72 days so I gotta get on it!

I swapped the cam out on the 5.3 over the weekend and my dad helped out with getting the front suspension ready to go back together. I had him drill the lower pivot locator 5/8" forward to give it a little more caster and I also have taller upper balljoints to go in that will help give a little more camber and help with the camber gain in corners. Going to pick away at it this week and weekend!

The nice thing about being here in the Northwest is we have 8 to 9 months to work on our trucks and only 3 or 4 months to play with em' / Break em'...…….. LOL

Oh yeah......most of the place I worked at, you'd get thrown out if you did that. It's a good way to lose a finger or an arm.....or even worse. I've seen photos of guys that got wrapped around rotating machines, and IT AINT PRETTY.

There was a machine shop that we did service work at on regular basis that had a mill that killed a guy. They just called the machine, "killer"
