And as for capev86's comments, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not sinking my time and hard earned money into my truck to haul crap in a brand new wood bed, or go down dirt roads. And air rides don't add enough weight that a well built motor is going to suffer or notice any decrease in acceleration. And cost wise they are not out of the park either.

But everyone gets to make up their own mind, that's the joy of freedom of expression.

Still a beautiful truck! I think the 2/4 would look good. Still stock looking, but better!

If you changed out the springs, it would be easy enough to change back...

Re: To drop or not to drop

Found the video on the thread "how about some pics of 67-72 trucks"
belongs to member named Elite95. He says him and his son built it. Sure he could tell you what the drop is and if its springs or bags.

Re: To drop or not to drop

I'm going to go with the 2/4 drop, just changing out the springs, if I don't like it, I'll change it back and sell the springs, I'll post some pics when its done. Thanks for all the pros and cons, and for the nice words about my truck.

Re: To drop or not to drop

Ok, I did the 2/4 drop springs from ECE. I like the look so far but I haven't taken out on the road yet because I need some wheel spacers, my rear tires are 17x10 and they are about a 1/4" away from the inner fender wells. I am running 275/60/17 all the way around and the front wheels are 17x8.5.

BEFORE THE DROP, I didnt know that my tail pipe bracket was broke untill I Saw this pic.

AFTER THE DROP

I don't know why the front didn't drop a whole lot maybe just 1". I might take the coils out and cut them a little to get the front lower than the back.

Re: To drop or not to drop

Front probably didn't drop as much as you thought,... because your old springs were probably sagging from age.
I usually cut 1/2 coil for every 1" of drop I want.

Your truck looks great!

Re: To drop or not to drop

I like the way your truck looks dropped. I'm not an "in the weeds" fan and like em dropped just as you did, slighty so you can still use it as a truck and anyone looking at it knows there is something different about it. I'm going with a 3 1/2 front and 5 rear when I do mine.

Re: To drop or not to drop

Thanks guys, I took it out yesterday and the ride is a little stiffer, I think I will get used to it, overall I like the way it looks and I think it stills looks high because of the big 275/60/17's. If I was running 15's it would look lower.

that is a very nice truck all it needs is the right stance! Not much. Just enough to get rid of that wheel well gap

Re: To drop or not to drop

truck looks great , you said you might trim front coils for some rake , sounds like a good idea , but i would give it a couple of weeks of driving to let new springs settle , you might get the look you want on its own!
