Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
I'd say around $50-$65 is reasonable. I had to get stock ones made at a shop locally. The receipt is gone now, but it was just a dollar or two shy of $60. It would probably be cheaper to do that than to get the nuts washers and bolts through lmc.

I'd check to see if you have a Big Rig shop near you, I had a Big Rig alignment/spring shop make mine for $20.

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
Yeah, that's a little steep. Hopefully you can find a cheaper set.

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
I ordered lowering springs online and cut a coil out of them. Thought the original ride was rough... I hate hitting bumps in my truck now. Really not worth it in my opinion. Your sacrificing alot of ride quality for a few inches lower. I mean it looks good, but like I said, every little bump gives me a headache

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
The Wrangler springs look like the deal if you don't plan on hauling much of a load which most guys with custom trucks don't anyhow.

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
I just got some Wrangler TJ springs off craigslist. Any year from 97-up. YJ Wranglers used leaf springs and were from 87-95. There was no Wrangler model in 96. After putting them in, they only lowered my truck by 1/4". Of course, there is no bed on my project at this time, so I can only assume the weight of the bed will compress them down. They are IDENTICAL in height to my factory springs, so it has to be the weight rating that is different. The coils are about half the diameter of the originals. I doubt you could haul much in the bed with them, other than a cooler full of beer (which is all I ever plan on hauling anyways).

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
bought my jeep springs off craigs for $20, and cut one full coil from the front springs. it brought me down about 2" up front and about 3.5" in the back. you will not be able to haul anything heavy like a boat or u-haul trailer, but the ride is still very good.

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
THE REAR COILS OFF OF A LATE 70s EL-CAMINO BOLT UP, & GIVE YOU 3 OR 4" OF DROP. NO PROBLEM CUTTING ONE COIL OFF THE FRONT. JUST MAKE SURE TO USE A CUTOFF WHEEL & DON'T GET EM HOT. FOR GODS SAKE.... DON'T CUT THE REAR COILS NO MATTER WHO SAYS IT'S O-K. IT'S NOT. & DON'T TAKE A TORCH TO EM EITHER. IF YOU WANT TO KILL YOURSELF... H@LL ... I WONT GET IN YOUR WAY, BUT THE PUBLIC ROADS ARE JUST FULL OF INNOCENT PEOPLE THAT MAY NOT WANT TO GO WITH YOU. JOHN

Re: want to cut springs have ???'s
Cinder blocks work well too, and the added weight makes for a better ride.
