These are similar to Shark Bite® but a different trade name.
They are flexible stainless with the ends already attached.
I used them on the water heater in my shop 5-6 years ago...so far so good.
I do keep an eye on them though.
I get it, believe me. We had our kitchen remodeled, and a plumber did the water works. I'm getting old, and with arthritis, unless I can sit at a bench and solder, I'll probably hire any plumbing out again.

We used Shark Bite fittings on a water heater in our old house. They are great. There were no leaks or anything. They were still dry after 5+ years, when we sold and moved.

Got some rather bad news yesterday. We are staying in our Missouri house. I went down to the basement, and we have mold issues . Looks like at least half the finished basement is going to need to be demo-ed.

Took the day off from everything yard, truck, house related. We went to the 118th birthday party for a local library. Had a great time listening to speakers, had some snacks, etc. They were also having a book sale. How can you go wrong with a $1.00 Chevrolet book! What's cool is the oily fingerprints left inside. Person was setting the lash on the lifters.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I don't recall ever seeing that book. Who is the author/publisher and printing date ? Is it new enough to have V8 engines included...
Borrowed a run stand to set up my 292 on. I am going to sell it and it should help to be able to see and hear it run. It isn't some old stock engine...

Saw this post and it reminded me of my book I've had forever so I had to check, yup same author and I got my pages plenty greasy over the years.
Still grab it as a quick reference for the head and intake bolt torque sequence.

I cleaned up my 69 mach1 to take to lunch yesterday. Woke up to blue skies, exercised and the clouds moved in. No problem till I pulled it out of the garage and the skies opened up. So back to sleep once again, rats!!

Cool! I have the "Fix your Ford" sister to yours. Most of the greasy fingerprints are in the rebuild section.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Today my brother and I mounted the rebuilt Hurricane 60 Jeep engine onto the engine run stand. I'm working towards firing it up for cam/lifter break-in and re-checking valve lash once it's warmed up.
Have owned this Jeep almost 40 years now, haven't driven at all for about 2 years now as it started to smoke a little. A complete makeover is in the works but seems like life gets in the way more often now as I get older. The grandson is going to do all the pretzel flexing on the project.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Nice looking engine stand and new rebuild, but that tongue jack at the back just sitting on a board would make me very nervous. Maybe get a pair of large C-clamps and at least clamp the base to the frame...
I just picked up a run stand from a friend to mount my 292 6 cylinder on to sell it. I had this built 10 years ago and have set it in 3 different vehicles, only to give up adapting them for the engine and sold the vehicles. .050 off the head for 9.2 compression, 488 lift cam, larger valves, of course, custom length push rods. Clifford intake and 390 Holley carb. Cylinders were still nearly perfect but severely glazed from the farm truck idling, so, my builder honed them and fitted new rings to the original pistons. Crank turned 10/10 and all new bearings. It has about an hour of run/break in time on it.

46...bought it from the original owner's daughter after he passed. It spent its whole life on a local walnut ranch until I purchased it.

I've been working on the Jeep engine getting it ready to fire slowly but surely.
Today I ran across a problem with the oil pump install/orientation which I also discovered is a very common mistake.

While installing the distributor I could only after many attempts get it to drop in 180 out, so I started looking for the reason.
I then noticed the key on the bottom of the distributor shaft that mated to the oil pump was offset. I then searched the service manual and YouTube and discovered it was not only offset, but the keyways both the male key on the distributor and the female keyway on the oil pump actually had a slight taper to them so they only go one way.
It's very hard to see this taper with the naked eye but a caliper showed it to be true. Long story short I had to drop the oil pump (3 bolts) right behind the exhaust pipe in the third picture and re-clock the oil pump shaft 180. Distributor dropped in just like it sposed to was after that.

I'm glad these old motors were built to be easily repaired in the field!

That is a Cool Jeep.

The N-series F__D tractors with a front distributor has a similar design.
If a person puts it in wrong and tightens it down, it will damage or crack the housing.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Spent some time today repairing a crack on our ceiling sheet rock. Had a quote last summer for $1500 to have a local contractor to do the work.
I watched some youtube videos so I thought what the heck I will give it a shot.
Looks pretty good to me. Second layer repair paste goes on tomorrow.
Does that mean I get to spend $1500 on hot rod parts? LOL.

Around here, the response would be "you already have"...

I removed and sold the rusty cab off the '69 parts truck yesterday. Box is on the '70 and front clip is disassembled and stored in the car barn. All that's left outside is the rolling chassis now. Parked that behind the car barn for the winter and will get started on the restoration of that next summer.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Came home from a three day excursion . We road the Cumbres and Toltec Railway from Chama NM. to Antonito CO. on Wednesday and caught some of the best fall colors I've seen in a long time. This picture is only a sample. And I can't tell you if this was Colorado or New Mexico 'cause the train crosses state lines about 11 times in the 8 hour trip.
