Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
Great looking build!
When you start tire shopping pay attention to the tread wear rating, if you want to run some Goodguys events or SCCA CAM class autocross events the rating has to be 200 or higher. Autocross in these trucks is a blast and the way you are building yours it will do well.

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
1fun64 thanks for the Heads up on the tread ware. I've attended many gg events and was aware of there required tires. Truck will see many more street miles that track time so I don't want a super Sticky tire that will be gone quick. I'm thinking nitto 555's. I've had good luck with those in the past.

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
My truck came with 4 doors so I picked the best 2 and have been doing some rust repair. I order new inner door bottoms . When I first open them I thought there aren't gonna fit. But after lots of cuts and a few times of walking away for a min I got one on.
I also made a wooden template of the door bottom before I cut it apart to make sure the new bottom would fit correctly and so far it does. |

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
Nice job on the door repairs. I'm about to do the same repair on both of my doors. Where did you get your door bottoms from? Also did you but weld the very bottom seams or did you slip the patch under the lip?

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
Thanks. I ordered the bottoms from nsane hotrods they were tri-plus parts. I did just but weld the bottoms because I didn't have the proper tools to undo the fold and mame it look good when done so I chone to do it that way.

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
I have been researching the fold on the outer door skin at the bottom to see how to remove the inner door bottom. I like your approach of butt welding it. I was about to place an order with NSane for the door bottoms but just emailed Tabco to see if they have USA made door bottoms. Did you cut the fold down any on the outer door skin?

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
I almost got them from taco but read that quality has gone down hill in the past years. Cut just a tad on the outer skin

Re: 69 pro touring/ autocross.
I am running a dbc tb . I have an idea in my head on how I'm gonna do the cable but I haven't mocked it up yet. I've been busy doing bodywork that's killing me because I hate it. No I'm not using a maf sensor because there will be no where to run one. It will be tuned speed density. I try to get some pictures updated this week but there's not much to see besides body filler and primer and piles of used sandpaper.
